Uncle Si had been in declining health several months, but was not confined to his bed much more than a week before his death. He was for more than half a century a devout member of the Methodist Church and for nearly as long was a member of the Masonic Fraternity. Wednesday morning at about 10:30 o'clock, the last honors were paid his remain at Antioch four miles northwest of Lexington. Rev. C.C. Newbill officiated in the church after which the remains were taken in charge by Masons representing Constantine Lodge No. 64 and with their beautiful ceremony, Uncle Si was laid to rest beside many of family and kin who had gone before.
