First Generation

1. Thomas Meredith WALL. Born on 6 Aug 1778 in Gelchburbery County, Virginia. At the age of 35, Thomas Meredith died on 12 Aug 1813.

Military: Served as a private in Captain Moore's Company of Virginia Militia, War of 1812.

On 13 Jan 1797 when Thomas Meredith was 18, he married Elizabeth Hardaway SHORT, in Mechlenburg County, Virginia. Born on 5 Mar 1781 in Mechlenburg County, Virginia. Resided in 14th District, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1850.

They had the following children:
2 i. Nancy Hardaway (1799-)
ii. William Henry Freeman. Born on 3 Apr 1800. At the age of 32, William Henry Freeman died in 1833.

3 iii. Elizabeth E. (1800-1872)
4 iv. Rebecca Anne D. (1803-)
v. Solomon. Born in 1804. Solomon died in 1804.

5 vi. Jane H. (1806-)
vii. Fredrick S.. Born in Nov 1807. At the age of 11, Fredrick S. died on 27 Mar 1819.

Tradition preserved by Martin O. Wall says that Frederick, his great grandfather Wall's brother was killed by being thrown from a horse which he had been told not to ride. Thomas Wall was not home at home when his son tried to ride the horse.
