Exceptional Clarksburg High School Athletes
Kathleen "Tip" Wall
21 November 1922 - 16 September 2000
Tip, the daughter of Billie Blaine "Shep"
Wall and Maggie Lee Kirby,
grew up on the family farm about two miles west of
Clarksburg located at what we now know as Crum Road. Tip
played basketball at Clarksburg High School and
was said to be a very gifted athlete graduating
in 1939. According to her late husband, James Taylor,
David Lipscomb College located in Nashville, Tennessee offered
Tip a basketball scholarship. After considering the offer,
Tip decided to remain in Clarksburg and pursue her
personal life. She would marry the love of her life,
JamesTaylor in December 1941 Their marriage
would produce three children: Wallace, Phyllis, and
Timothy "Tim".
