Graduate of Denton High School, Normal College (now Univ. of North Texas) and Photography School; also attended C.I.A. (now T.W.U.) in Denton Texas. Member of 1st Methodist Church. After moving to Big Spring, she was an active member of the Womans division of the church, serving in the office of President and held a lifetime membership. Was a Sunday School teacher & wrote the history of the church for the Big Spring Centennial. Was a long-time member & past president of Modern Women's Forum Study Club. A sub. teacher for 15 yrs. & ret. age 81. She married H. M. ROWE, M, on 24 Apr 1920 in Denton, Denton County, Texas. Born on 28 Nov 1898 in Mountain Peak, Ellis County, Texas. H. M. was 66 when he died in Big Spring, Howard County, Texas on 2 Feb 1965. H. M. was 66 when he was buried in Trinity Mem. Park, Big Spring, Howard on 5 Feb 1965. H.M.'s mother wanted to name him after her father, Hopson Monroe, but he said everyone named after him seemed to have bad luck. So she named him H.M. That is the only name on his birth certificate. He was offered a Pro. Baseball contract when he graduated from H.S. He was planning to marry & decided that was not a live for a new wife and turned it down. He was active in civic affairs, a Deacon & a member of the official board of the 1st Methodist Church in Big Spring, Texas. People considered him to be the best mechanic in West Texas.
