33. Jane Beulah BLOUNT. Born in Sep 1900 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 72, Jane Beulah died in Carroll County, Tennessee in 1973. Buried in 1973 in New Hope Cemetery, Yuma, Carroll County, Tennessee. Resided in District 14, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1930.

Jane Beulah married David Lige CARY Senior, son of James Benjamin CARY (1856-1929) & Eliza Ann KIRKSEY (1867-1948). Born in Jan 1896 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 43, David Lige died in Carroll County, Tennessee in 1940. Buried in 1940 in New Hope Cemetery, Yuma, Carroll County, Tennessee. Resided in District 14, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1900. Resided in District 14, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1930.

They had the following children:
i. Clara. Born in 1919 in Carroll County, Tennessee. Resided in District 14, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1930.

iii. Lloyd L. Born on 21 Mar 1924 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 19, Lloyd L died on 25 Feb 1944. Buried in New Hope Cemetery, Yuma, Carroll County, Tennessee. Resided in District 14, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1930.

Lloyd L Cary served in Company I, 142nd Infantry Regiment in World War II. He was killed in action. He received the Purple Heart and Silver Star.

iv. Ruth. Born in 1926 in Carroll County, Tennessee. Resided in District 14, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1930.

v. David Lige. Born in 1928.

vi. Bular. Born in 1929 in Carroll County, Tennessee. Resided in District 14, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1930.

vii. Floyd.


34. Lela BLOUNT. Born on 31 May 1903. At the age of 90, Lela died on 22 Jul 1993. Buried in Jul 1993 in New Hope Cemetery, Yuma, Carroll County, Tennessee. Resided in 14th District, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1914.

Lela married Sam BIRDWELL, son of John Priest BIRDWELL (1860-1925) & Desdemonia BREWER (1867-1944). Born on 27 Oct 1902. At the age of 55, Sam died on 17 Jan 1958. Buried in Jan 1958 in New Hope Cemetery, Yuma, Carroll County, Tennessee. Resided in Carroll County, Tennessee in 1914. Resided in 14th District, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1930.

They had the following children:
i. Carrie. Born on 2 Jun 1922. At the age of 72, Carrie died on 18 May 1995. Buried in May 1995 in New Hope Cemetery, Yuma, Carroll County, Tennessee.

35. Bettie Lois BLOUNT. Born on 15 Aug 1911 in Yuma, Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 93, Bettie Lois died in Bruceton, Carroll County, Tennessee on 14 Apr 2005. Buried on 16 Apr 2005 in New Hope Cemetery, Carroll County, Tennessee.

Obituary: Graveside services for Bettie Lois Turpen, 93, were conducted Saturday, April 16, at 11:00 a.m. at the New Hope Cemetery in Yuma with Bro. Russell Carlock officiating. Mrs. Turpen died Thursday, April 14, at the Life Care Center in Bruceton. She was born August 15, 1911, in Carroll County to the late Claude and Rose Morgan Blount. She was a retired waitress for the Peabody Hotel in Memphis. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Turpen; two sisters: Beulah Carey and Lela Birdwell; and two brothers: Johnny Blount and Mack Blount. Survivors include one son, Harold Turpen of Bruceton, and several nieces and nephews.


Bettie Lois married Eugene TURPEN.

They had one child:
i. Harold. Resided in Bruceton, Carroll County, Tennessee in Apr 2005.


36. Johnny BLOUNT.

Johnny married Etta Norine PARISH, daughter of Gray PARISH (1882-1933) & Lessie G. DAMERON (1887-). Born in 1908. At the age of 84, Etta Norine died in 1992. Resided in District 14, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1930.

They had one child:
