Family of Jacob Maryon COFFMAN (3) & Nancy WALKER

13. Lovell COFFMAN. Born on 22 Aug 1800 in Tennessee. At the age of 42, Lovell died in Jefferson, Marion County, Texas after 1843. Buried in Old Bluff Cemetery, Detroit, Texas.

On 14 Nov 1820 when Lovell was 20, he married Cathryn HOWARD, daughter of Baldwin HOWARD & Elizabeth ?, in Madison County, Alabama. Buried in Old Bluff Cemetery, Detroit, Texas.

They had the following children:

ii. Liza. Born on 22 May 1823.

iii. Nancy. Born in 1825.

41 iv. Seabern Joseph (1828-1912)
v. Martha Jane. Born on 9 Jun 1830.

vi. William Washington. Born on 18 Aug 1832.

vii. Andrew Jackson. Born on 1 Jan 1835.

viii. Amanda. Born on 1 May 1837.

ix. Mary Frances. Born on 1 Aug 1839.

x. Jacob Warren. Born on 1 Dec 1842.


14. James Marion COFFMAN. Born on 14 Mar 1802 in Tennessee. At the age of 79, James Marion died in Texas on 13 Feb 1882.

James Marion Coffman moved with his family to Madison County, Alabama where they lived 12 years (1826-1837). After Cherokee County, Alabama was created from Indian territory, they located in this county, built a home and cleared a farm on government land. Later, when James went to file the papers for the homestead, someone else had already entered this land. Discouraged, they moved to Upshur County, Texas about 1846 (deed dated March 8, 1847). The County of Upshur was later divided and the farm site is in now Camp County, Lafayette, Texas. He owned and operated about 2,700 acres of land, owned and operated a cotton gin, grist mill, and flour mill.

On 21 Feb 1825 when James Marion was 22, he married Anna Elizabeth ROBERTSON, in Jefferson County, Tennessee.

They had the following children:

43 ii. Lovell (1827-1882)
44 iii. Teressa (1829-)
45 iv. James H. (1831-)
46 v. Elizabeth Jane (1833-1911)
vi. John Haskell. Born on 21 Jan 1835 in Madison County, Alabama. At the age of 27, John Haskell died on 31 May 1862.

John Haskell Coffman died in the American Civil War.

viii. Caswell N.. Born on 1 Mar 1839 in Alabama. At the age of 23, Caswell N. died on 26 Jul 1862.

Caswell N. Coffman died in the U.S. Civil War.

48 ix. Aletha Frances (1841-1924)
x. Amanda K.. Born on 6 Apr 1843 in Alabama. At the age of 19, Amanda K. died on 10 Aug 1862.

xi. William Jasper. Born on 21 May 1845 in Alabama.

William Jasper Coffman died soon after the Civil War from Tuberculosis due to hardships.

David married Milly ?.

They had the following children:

v. Mary Ann. Born in 1840.

vi. Elizabeth. Born in 1843.

vii. Frances. Born in 1846.

viii. James. Born in 1850.
