On 13 Sep 1924 when Myrtle Mae was 19, she married William Luther BALLARD, in Nacogdoches County, Texas. Born on 16 Jun 1905 in Nacogdoches County, Texas. At the age of 26, William Luther died in Nacogdoches County, Texas on 10 Nov 1931.

They had one child:
i. Luther LeVaughn. Born on 13 Jun 1925 in Nacogdoches County, Texas. Resided in Arlington, Tarrant County, Texas in 1999. Occupation: Engineer.
