On 22 Dec 1933 when Dayton was 20, he married Leola LAYCOOK, daughter of Henry Lafayette LAYCOOK (1876-1925) & Frances Elizabeth ROARK (1878-1942), in Henderson County, Tennessee. Born on 25 Mar 1917 in Midway, Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 63, Leola died in Clarksburg, Carroll County, Tennessee on 4 Apr 1980. Buried in 1980 in Sellers Hill Cemetery, Carroll County, Tennessee.
