Florence Douglas Pendergrass
19 September 1902 - 31 May 1986
Florence was the daughter of Albert Sidney Douglas and
Willie Jefferson Meals. She was the third child, second daughter,
born to the couple. Her father died 30 December 1918 from pneumonia
which was directly related to the Spanish Flu. She and her husband, Jessie
Pendergrass were
married in Carroll County, Tennessee on 20 February 1921. Seven children
were a result of their marriage with the first dying at birth. She would
spend
her life within three miles where she was born.
