Ed and Gliner Meggs McDaniel Family

Even though approximately 35 years have swiftly gone by since the
passing of Ed and Gliner, our most beloved parents
and grandparents, our family still holds true to their tradition of caring.
Irvin, Joe, Tom, and Margaret have their families,
their own grandchildren, and even in one case,  a great-grandchild.
Life has been good to them which they know.
Sometimes they appear to have a touch of sibling
rivalry as nearly all do, and if their mom were here, a  trip
to the peach tree would be in order (not to pick peaches either).
Make no mistake about it, the bonds are strong
and let no one tread upon the clan of Ed and Gliner McDaniel
with the expectation of breaking our bonds
which were forged in hard work and discipline,
a requirement of the hard economic times of the 30s and 40s..

Ed and Gliner's descendants as most others, are spread all over
the world - from Washington to Germany - and of course, our home
base, Carroll and Henderson Counties. We must improvise
to spend our precious moments together. Even though it
is impossible for us all to meet a one time, under one roof, we
still hold true to our traditions.
This year (Christmas 2000), families of Irvin and Margaret met
together in Henderson County. Joe and his family enjoyed a
very good Christmas especially with the addition of a
new McDaniel.  Tom and his family
bent tradition and enjoyed Christmas in Pigeon
Forge, Tennessee.

Perhaps, perhaps, next year, if blessed with good health,
and if the Lord allows us to live another year,
we will do our best to strengthen our bonds again.
Attached are photographs
which we are glad to share of our McDaniel memories.
