John Thomas "Tom" Abner Scott
26 April 1868 - 19 July 1946
Tom Scott as born near Clarksburg, Tennessee. He would live his
near the same place he was born until his death. His remains
were buried in the Sellers Hill Cemetery. On 14 February 1904, Tom
married Nancy Ann Phillips, daughter of Benjamin Taylor Phillips
and Sarah Elizabeth Hampton. Nancy was the sister of Mary Frances
Phillips, wife of
William Monroe Scott, Tom's younger brother. Tom
and Nancy Ann's marriage produced two children before Nancy's
early death on 29 May 1913. Their names were James Edgar and
Sarah . Tom remained a widower.
