Family of Reverend Andrew McCALL Senior (2) & Jeanette TODD

3. John McCALL. Born on 1 May 1813 in Laurens County, South Carolina. At the age of 74, John died in Chester County, Tennessee on 12 Feb 1888. Buried in Feb 1888 in Unity Cemetery, Chester County, Tennessee.

On 7 May 1836 when John was 23, he first married Elizabeth DIER.

They had one child:
11 i. Henry William (1838-1920)

On 15 Jul 1845 when John was 32, he second married Eliza Elmore DENNISON, daughter of Stephen DENNISON & Elizabeth INGRAM, in Henderson County, Tennessee. Born in 1820. At the age of 81, Eliza Elmore died in 1901. Buried in 1901 in Unity Cemetery, Chester County, Tennessee.

They had the following children:

iii. Elizabeth. Born on 1 May 1852 in Henderson County, Tennessee. At the age of 3, Elizabeth died in Henderson County, Tennessee on 20 Oct 1855.

4. Doctor Henry McCALL. Born on 6 Apr 1817 in Lexington County, South Carolina. At the age of 63, Henry died in Clarksburg, Carroll County, Tennessee on 2 May 1880. Buried in May 1880 in Blair Cemetery, Clarksburg, Carroll County, Tennessee. Resided in Clarksburg, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1875. Occupation: Physician. Cause of death: Died from pneumonia.

Doctor Henry McCall was the first mayor of Clarksburg, Carroll county, Tennessee.

Henry McCall studied medicine at the University of Nashville and practiced in the community of Clarksburg, Carroll County, Tennessee.

Henry McCall was a member of Huntingdon Masonic Lodge #106 AF&AM.

In 1845 when Henry was 27, he married Rebecca Frances BOWLIN, daughter of Doctor William BOWLIN (1796-1834) & Mildred CONNALLY (1802-1879). Born on 23 Oct 1826 in North Carolina. At the age of 61, Rebecca Frances died in Carroll County, Tennessee on 7 Dec 1887.

Doctor Patrick Todd McCALL. Born on 3 Mar 1819 in Laurens County, South Carolina. At the age of 77, Patrick Todd died in Tennessee on 10 Jun 1896. Buried in Jun 1896 in McCall Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee. Was living in the 16th District, Henderson County, Tennessee, during the 1850 Census.

On 28 Jul 1844 when Patrick Todd was 25, he married Sarah E. INGRAM, in Tennessee. Born on 20 Mar 1826 in Tennessee. Buried in McCall Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee.

6. Katherine McCALL. Born on 2 Nov 1821 in Laurens County, South Carolina. At the age of 76, Katherine died in Henderson County, Tennessee in 1898.

On 6 May 1840 when Katherine was 18, she married Ezariah Washington WALKER, son of Phillip WALKER Junior & Rebecca KING. Born on 4 Jan 1820. At the age of 80, Ezariah Washington died in Chesterfield, Henderson County, Tennessee on 12 Jan 1900. Buried in Jan 1900 in Union Church Cemetery, Chesterfield, Henderson County, Tennessee.

26 v. Louise A. (1850-1935)

7. Eleanor McCALL. Born on 21 Aug 1824 in Laurens County, South Carolina. At the age of 49, Eleanor died in Henderson County, Tennessee on 22 Jan 1874. Buried in Jan 1874 in McCall Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee. Alias/AKA: "Ellen".

On 9 Sep 1845 when Eleanor was 21, she married James Henry FULLER, son of Ephraim FULLER & Mary CONYERS, in Henderson County, Tennessee. Born on 22 Oct 1823. At the age of 69, James Henry died on 14 Nov 1892. Buried in Nov 1892 in McCall Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee.

James Henry Fuller moved with his family from Humphries County, Tennessee, to Henderson County in 1832 where they settled in the 20th Civil District about four miles north of Lexington. James was a farmer and owned about 1000 acres of good land which he sold in 1881 and moved to Lone Elm. He was a Republican, Primitive Baptist, and served as magistrate of his district from 1846 until 1880 except for the war years.

They had the following children:
i. Harriett F.. Born in 1846. At the age of 62, Harriett F. died in Jan 1908.

Harriett F. married William. M. BRAY, son of John BRAY & Minerva WALKER (1827-1909). Resided in Henderson, Chester County, Tennessee in 1909.

iv. Mary I.. Born in 1852.

v. Joseph W.. Born on 25 Nov 1853 in Henderson County, Tennessee. At the age of 1, Joseph W. died in Henderson County, Tennessee on 3 Oct 1855. Buried in Oct 1855 in McCall Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee.

vi. Infant. Born on 18 Oct 1855 in Henderson County, Tennessee. Infant died in Henderson County, Tennessee on 18 Oct 1855. Buried in Oct 1855 in McCall Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee.

vii. William. Born on 24 Jan 1856 in Henderson County, Tennessee. William died in Henderson County, Tennessee on 16 Aug 1856. Buried in Aug 1856 in McCall Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee.

viii. Patrick E.. Born on 13 Aug 1858 in Henderson County, Tennessee. At the age of 34, Patrick E. died in Henderson County, Tennessee on 30 Jul 1893. Buried in Jul 1893 in McCall Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee.

ix. James H.. Born in 1866 in Lone Elm, Henderson County, Tennessee. At the age of 70, James H. died in Little Rock, Arkansas on 17 Apr 1936.

8. Andrew McCALL Junior. Born on 5 Apr 1827 in Laurens County, South Carolina. At the age of 74, Andrew died in Henderson County, Tennessee on 30 Jan 1902. Buried in Jan 1902 in McCall Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee.  Lived in 16th District, Henderson County, Tennessee during the 1850 Census.


On 10 Dec 1849 when Andrew was 22, he married Nancy Jane DENNISON, daughter of Stephen DENNISON & Elizabeth INGRAM, in Henderson County, Tennessee. Born in 1833 in Tennessee. At the age of 75, Nancy Jane died in Henderson County, Tennessee on 22 Jan 1908. Buried in Jan 1908 in McCall Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee.

v. Joseph Henry. Born on 27 Feb 1862 in Henderson County, Tennessee. At the age of 31, Joseph Henry died in Jackson, Madison County, Tennessee on 21 Jun 1893. Alias/AKA: "Joe".

31 vi. Mary Adelaide (1865-1948)
vii. Ellen Catherine. Born on 8 Oct 1868 in Lone Elm, Henderson County, Tennessee. At the age of 40, Ellen Catherine died in Henderson County, Tennessee on 18 Mar 1909. Alias/AKA: "Kittie".

In Feb 1907 when Ellen Catherine was 38, she married George W. SMITH. Born in 1866. At the age of 69, George W. died in Lexington, Henderson County, Tennessee in Oct 1935.

viii. Minnie Jane. Born on 15 Jan 1872 in Henderson County, Tennessee. At the age of 90, Minnie Jane died on 28 Apr 1962.

Minnie Jane McCall never married.


9. Calvin B. McCALL. Born on 21 Apr 1829 in Laurens County, South Carolina. At the age of 64, Calvin B. died in Tennessee on 23 Jan 1894. Buried in Jan 1894 in McCall Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee. Was living with his brother, Andrew McCall, during the 1850 Census.

In 1852 when Calvin B. was 22, he married Emily Cassandra INGRAM, in Tennessee. Born on 22 Feb 1832. At the age of 65, Emily Cassandra died on 18 Sep 1897. Buried in Sep 1897 in McCall Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee.

They had the following children:

10. Doctor Joseph Williams McCALL. Born on 20 Jan 1832 in Henderson County, Tennessee. At the age of 91, Joseph Williams died in Huntingdon, Carroll County, Tennessee on 10 Aug 1923. Buried in Aug 1923 in Clark Cemetery, Huntingdon, Carroll County, Tennessee.

Autobiography: Joseph W. McCall, M.D., is a native of Henderson County, Tenn., born January 20, 1832, son of Andrew McCall, who was born in South Carolina, September 2, 1790, and is a descendant of some of the immigrants who came to the United States in the Mayflower. He was one of the early schoolmasters of Tennessee, a member of the Old School Presbyterian Church, and was an old line Whig in politics. He was a soldier in the war of 1812, and in about 1830 or 1831 came to Tennessee, and located in Henderson County, where he died October 11, 1841. His wife was Jane Todd. She was born in Ireland, March 4, 1795, and was brought to America in 1798. She died in Henderson County, Tenn., in 1875. Our subject is the ninth of ten children, six of whom are living. He was raised on a farm and attended the early schools of the county. He began the study of medicine at Clarksburg, Tenn., in the office of his brother, Dr. Henry McCall He graduated from the medical department of the University of Nashville in 1857. In 1862 he became assistant surgeon in the United States Army for the Seventh Tennessee Cavalry. Since 1865 he has been a resident of Huntingdon, and is the oldest physician in the town; in 1869 graduated from the College of Physicians and Surgeons in the city of New York. June 16, 1858, he married Victoria A. Wilson, who was born in Henderson County, Tenn., October 15, 1841. They have four children: Lenora J., Emma J., Fannie J. and James H. Mrs. McCall died August 24, 1884. Dr. McCall is a Republican, and for the last eighteen years has been local examining surgeon of pensions. His most important case, perhaps, was the first authenticated case in Tennessee of trichinosis. He successfully treated the family of James Espey, seven in number, in 1885.

Joseph Williams McCall studied medicine under his brother, Henry McCall, at Clarksburg, Carroll County, Tennessee. Joseph served as a surgeon in the 7th Tennessee Cavalry, US, during the American Civil War.

On 16 Jun 1858 when Joseph Williams was 26, he married Victoria Adelaide WILSON, in Tennessee. Born on 15 Oct 1818. At the age of 65, Victoria Adelaide died on 24 Aug 1884. Buried in Aug 1884 in Clark Cemetery, Huntingdon, Carroll County, Tennessee.

They had the following children:

iii. Fannie J.. Born in 1865.

Fannie and her husband taught school at the Sioux Indian School in Cheyenne, Dakota.

On 29 Jul 1881 when Fannie J. was 16, she married T.D. JOHNSON, in Carroll County, Tennessee.
