Family of Joe Chalmer TODD Senior (70) & Panzy Newil BURCH James served in the Army during World War II. He received two purple hearts and six bronze medals. He was a retired employee of the Internal Revenue Service and was a deacon at the County Line Baptist Church. He was also a former deacon of the Clarksburg Baptist Church. For several years, he ran an income tax preparation service at Clarksburg, 13th District, Carroll County, Tennessee. He lived at Jumbo, located on the Clarksburg-Jackson Road (about six miles west of Clarksburg). Obituary: James E. Todd, 76, of Cedar Grove, died Tuesday, August 8, at his home after a lengthy illness of cancer. Services were held on Thursday, August 10, at the County Line Baptist Church. Rev. Randal Woods officiated. Burial followed in the Clarksburg Cemetery with military honors. Dilday Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Mr. Todd, the son of the late Chalmer and Pansy Newbill Birch Todd, was born February 28, 1924, in Wildersville. He served in the Army during World War II, where he received two purple hearts and six bronze medals. He is survived by two daughters, Linda Brawner and Donna Linton, both of Memphis; a son, James Rodney Todd of Cedar Grove; a step-daughter, Tamara Bush of Jackson; a stepson, Thomas Cook of Memphis; a sister, Martha Gooch of Yuma; two brothers, Joe Todd of Jackson and Landon Taylor of East Tennessee; six grandchildren and five step-grandchildren. James Edwin first married Myrtle Helen WAUGH, daughter of William Monroe WAUGH (1891-1974) & Minnie KING (1899-1974). Born on 2 Sep 1937. Resided in 14th District, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1930. On 3 Nov 1980 when James Edwin was 56, he second married Mary Sue TAYLOR. Mary Sue died on 26 Apr 1981. Buried in Apr 1981 in Clarksburg Cemetery, Clarksburg, Carroll County, Tennessee. On 6 Oct 1981 when James Edwin was 57, he third married Dorthy Nell AUTRY, daughter of Wilma AUTRY (1932-2005). They were divorced. No children were produced from this marriage. 182. Max Lolar TODD. Born on 12 Apr 1925 in Wildersville, Henderson County, Tennessee. At the age of 72, Max Lolar died in Jackson, Madison County, Tennessee on 16 Dec 1997. Buried in Dec 1997 in Clarksburg Cemetery, Clarksburg, 13th District, Carroll County, Tennessee. Military: World War II Army Veteran. On 21 Dec 1947 when Max Lolar was 22, he married Mary Elizabeth HEDGE, daughter of George Oren HEDGE Senior (1901-1977) & Vester ALTOM (1904-1932), in Corinth, Mississippi. Born on 21 Dec 1927 in Henderson County, Tennessee. Resided in Clarksburg, 13th District, Carroll County, Tennessee in 2001. They had the following children:
183. Alma Ethel TODD. Born on 5 Dec 1927. At the age of 68, Alma Ethel died on 31 Jul 1996. Buried in Aug 1996 in Clarksburg Cemetery, Clarksburg, 13th District, Carroll County, Tennessee. On 28 Sep 1945 when Alma Ethel was 17, she married Lawrence Dale COFFMAN, son of Samuel Clarence COFFMAN (1898-1932) & Rosie Edith THOMPSON (1903-2001). Born on 17 Mar 1925 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 69, Lawrence Dale died in Horn Lake, Mississippi on 24 Jan 1995. Obituary: Funeral services for Mr. Joe Chalmer ''Pop'' Todd, Jr., 74, will be held at 10:30 AM Wednesday, April 6, 2005 in the Chapel of Lawrence-Sorensen Funeral Home with Reverend Calvin Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Clarksburg Cemetery in Carroll County. Mr. Todd died Sunday, April 3, 2005. He was born in Henderson County, son of the late Joe Chalmer Todd and the late Panzy Newil Burch Todd Taylor. Mr. Todd was a legend known as ''Pop'' to be recognized as a notable person for the gifts he bestowed to his community and many friends. He was an entrepreneur in business for himself for fifty years as owner of Todd Vending Company. He was an avid outdoorsman and sportsman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Joe Lee Todd; a sister, Alma Coffman and two brothers, Max Todd and James Todd. Survivors include a daughter, Pattie Manon Cole and her mother Susan Lorell Smith; companion, Jacqueline Medlin; three granddaughters, Susan Manon Smith, Tammy Lee Herr and Kelli Marie Todd; a grandson, Todd Marlon Cole; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Martha Gooch and a brother, Landon Taylor. Joe Chalmer first married Susan Lorell ANDERSON. Born on 14 Apr 1930. Resided in Linden, Perry County, Tennessee in Oct 2001. They had the following children:
