Family of Martha LAWS (1) & Sherrod SEGRAVES Moses Segraves was living with the Benjamin Phillips family in the 9th District, Henderson County, Tennessee, during the 1850 Census. On 22 Aug 1852 when Moses was 20, he first married Susan P. CRABB, daughter of Hilliard CRABB & Mary HOGG, in Benton County, Tennessee. Born on 29 Oct 1834 in Benton County, Tennessee. At the age of 63, Susan P. died in Henderson County, Tennessee in 1898. Buried in 1898 in Waugh-Segraves Family Cemetery, Wildersville, Henderson County, Tennessee. They had the following children:
On 23 Feb 1899 when Moses was 66, he second married Sintha Jane AIKEN, daughter of John AIKEN & Sarah LESLIE, in Henderson County, Tennessee. Born on 25 May 1854. At the age of 66, Sintha Jane died in Henderson County, Tennessee on 7 Mar 1921. Buried in Mar 1921 in Farmville Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee. Lexington Progress, Lexington, Tennessee, Friday, August 9, 1918, Page 1: Mrs. Cynthia Seagraves, widow of the late Mose Seagraves, who now lives with J.M. Scott, two miles North of Wildersville on the old Mose Seagraves farm, was partially paralyzed in June and since has barely been able to get about with a stick. Mrs. Seagraves has for her a living fund of but $550.00, on which she gets 6 percent annually and the remainder is supplied by her son-in-law [John M. Scott], with whom she lives. |
