Obituary: Joe Priestly Belew, 84, of Milan, died Thursday, November 23, at his home in Milan. Services were held on Sunday, November 26, in the Dilday Funeral Home Chapel. Brother Billy Ringold officiated. Burial followed in the Jamison Cemetery near Westport. Mr. Belew, the son of the late Joseph Edward and Ruth Tucker Belew, was born June 14, 1916, in Yuma. He was retired from the Milan Arsenal and a retired carpenter/millwright by trade. He was a World War II Navy Veteran, where he earned a bronze medal and a member of the Masonic lodge #106 for 52 years. He was a member of the Main Street Church of Christ in Milan. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Kincannon Belew, who died October 18, 1997; for sisters, Ruth Ella Dunlap, Nell Glynn Smith, Lou Willie Kincannon and Mary Elizabeth Birdwell; and a brother, John Lloyd Belew. Mr. Belew is survived by a son, Pete Belew, and special friend, Pat Roberts, both of Jackson; a grandson, Monte Belew and wife, Amanda, of Knoxville; a great-grandson, Joseph Belew of Knoxville; two sisters, Helen Birdwell of Jackson and Jean Boyce of Nashville; two brothers, Jack Belew of Florence, South Carolina, and Ed Belew of Nashville. On 12 Oct 1934 when Joe Priestly was 18, he married Mildred KINCANNON, daughter of William H. KINCANNON (1881-1962) & Ida ? (1889-). Born in 1919 in Tennessee. At the age of 78, Mildred died on 18 Oct 1997. Buried in Oct 1997 in Jamision Cemetery, Carroll County, Tennessee. Resided in District 24, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1930. They had one child:
