Willie Rene KIRBY. Born on 9 Jun 1924 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 82, Willie Rene died in Memphis, Shelby County, Tennessee on 22 Dec 2006. Buried on 24 Dec 2006 in New Liberty Cemetery, Carroll County, Tennessee. Resided in District 13, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1930. Resided in Williston, Fayette County, Tennessee in Oct 2006.

Obituary: HUNTINGDON: Willie Rene Blackwell, 82, died Friday, December 22, at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis. Funeral services were Sunday, December 24, at 2 p.m. at Huntingdon Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Lynn Stapleton officiating. Burial followed in Liberty Cemetery. Mrs. Blackwell was born June 9, 1924 to the late Charlie Bennett Kirby and Donnie (Douglas) Kirby. She was a retired factory employee with Henry I. Siegel Company and a member of the Huntingdon Missionary Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Siddie Gurley. Survivors include: one daughter, Marcia R. (Rick Lucius) Pickering of Williston; two sons, Billy (Karen) Blackwell of Olive Branch, Mississippi and Gerry L. Blackwell of Hernando, Mississippi; one brother, Pete Kirby of Yuma; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Chase Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.


Willie Rene married Billy BLACKWELL, son of Patrick Daniel BLACKWELL Senior (1891-1962) & Clara N. WILLIAMS (1894-1983). Born in 1927. At the age of 67, Billy died in Mar 1994. Buried in Mar 1994 in New Hope Cemetery, Yuma, Carroll County, Tennessee.

They had the following children:
i. Billy Kirby. Resided in Olive Branch, Mississppi in Dec 2006.

ii. Gerry L.. Resided in Hernando, Mississippi in Dec 2006.

iii. Marcia R.. Resided in Williston, Fayette County, Tennessee in Dec 2006.

Marcia R. married Rick Lucius PICKERING.


300. Siddie Ellene KIRBY. Born on 4 Oct 1927 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 78, Siddie Ellene died in Yuma, Carroll County, Tennessee on 3 Oct 2006. Buried on 4 Oct 2006 in New Liberty Cemetery, Carroll County, Tennessee. Resided in District 13, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1930.

Obituary: YUMA: Mrs. Siddie Ellene Gurley, 78, died Tuesday, October 3, at her home. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, October 4, at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home with Bro. Jimmy Stewart and Bro. Tim Maness officiating. Burial will follow in the New Liberty Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the Cherrywood Room of Chase Funeral Home after 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday and from 8:00 a.m. until time of services on Wednesday. Mrs. Gurley was born October 4, 1927 in Carroll County to the late Charlie B. Kirby and Donnie (Douglas) Kirby. She was a retired teletype operator for the Sears Corporation and a member of New Liberty Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by one sister, Glenda Kirby. Survivors include: her husband of 62 years, Marshall H. Gurley; one daughter, Sandra K. Castleberry of Oak Ridge; two sons, Nickey L. Gurley of Cordova and Thomas H. Gurley of Memphis; one sister, Willie Rene Blackwell of Williston, Tennessee; one brother, H. G. “Pete” Kirby of Yuma; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

On 22 Jul 1944 when Siddie Ellene was 16, she married Reverend Marshall Harold GURLEY (280) , son of Luther Vincent GURLEY (1894-1979) & Mamie Lois MEALS (189) (1902-), in Tennessee. Born on 16 Nov 1928. Resided in First District, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1930. Religion: Independent Missionary Baptist Preacher. Alias/AKA: "Dode".

301. Reverend Harlon G. KIRBY. Resided in Yuma, Carroll County, Tennessee in Oct 2006. Religion: Independent Missionary Baptist Preacher. Alias/AKA: "Pete".

Harlon G. married Dorothy HALTER, daughter of Joseph R. HALTERS (1907-1993) & Margaret HILL (1909-1958). Born on 27 Nov 1932 in Henderson County, Tennessee. At the age of 67, Dorothy died in Jackson, Madison County, Tennessee on 11 Aug 2000. Buried in Aug 2000 in New Hope Cemetery, Yuma, Carroll County, Tennessee.

Obituary: Dorothy Jewell Kirby, 67, of Westport, died Friday, August 11, at the Methodist LeBonheur Hospital. Services were held on Sunday, August 13, at the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Rev. Andy White officiated. Pallbearers who served were Jeremy Clark, Christopher Clark, Timothy Kelly, Kyle Halter, Larry Halter, and Charlie Halter. Dilday Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Kirby, the daughter of the late Joe and Margaret Hill Halter, was born November 27, 1932, in Henderson County. She was a homemaker and a member of the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Ruell Halter. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, H.G. "Pete" Kirby: a daughter, Lisa Ann Clark of Memphis, a son, Terry Ronald Kirby of Memphis; six brothers, Joe Halter, J.C. Halter and James Ross Halter, all of Parkers Crossroads, Robert Halter of Wildersville, Charles Halter of Lexington, and Roy Halter of Chicago, Illinois: two grandsons, Jeremy and Christopher Clark; and a great-granddaughter, Jerica Clark.

They had the following children:

ii. Terry Ronald. Resided in Memphis, Shelby County, Tennessee in Aug 2000.
