On 27 Jan 1918 when Donnie was 18, she married Charlie Bennett KIRBY, son of Jacob A. KIRBY (1857-1938) & Arena Frances KEE (1860-1938), in Carroll County, Tennessee. Born on 26 Apr 1898 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 64, Charlie Bennett died in Carroll County, Tennessee in 1963. Buried in 1963 in New Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery, Carroll County, Tennessee. Resided in District 13, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1930.

Florence DOUGLAS. Born on 19 Sep 1902 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 83, Florence died in Clarksburg, Carroll County, Tennessee on 31 May 1986. Buried in 1986 in Clarksburg Cemetery, Clarksburg, 13th District, Carroll County, Tennessee. Religion: New Liberty Independent Baptist Church, Carroll County, Tennessee.

Obituary: Services for Mrs. Florence Douglas Pendergrass, 82, of Clarksburg, were at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 2, at Clarksburg Baptist Church with the Rev. Harold Carver officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery with Dilday Funeral Home of Huntingdon in charge. Mrs. Pendergrass, wife of Jessie L. Pendergrass, died Friday afternoon, May 31, at her home after a long illness. She was a native of Carroll County and a member of the New Liberty Baptist Church. Besides her husband, she leaves four daughters, Mrs. Brooksie McDaniel and Mrs. Neta Lovell both of Yuma, Mrs. Willie Scott of Huntingdon and Mrs. Joyce Altom of Clarksburg; two sons, Adrian Pendergrass of Yuma and Cecil Pendergrass of Memphis; five sisters, Mrs. Donnie Kirby of Huntingdon, Mrs. Nancy Scott of Clarksburg, Mrs. Ollie Breeden of Yuma, Mrs. Odell Moore of Atwood, and Mrs. Opal Gately of Cedar Grove; nine grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

On 20 Feb 1921 when Florence was 18, she married Jessie Lee PENDERGRASS, son of Joseph Benjamin PENDERGRASS (1868-1946) & Elizabeth KEE (1869-1953), in Carroll County, Tennessee. Born on 25 Oct 1896 in Yuma, Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 93, Jessie Lee died in Clarksburg, 13th District, Carroll County, Tennessee on 2 Dec 1989. Buried in Dec 1989 in Clarksburg Cemetery, Clarksburg, 13th District, Carroll County, Tennessee. Resided in District 13, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1900. Religion: Member of New Liberty Independent Baptist Church, 7th District, Carroll County, Tennessee.

Obituary: CLARKSBURG: James Adron Pendergrass, 85, died Saturday, January 19, at Huntingdon Health and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services were Monday, January 21, at 2 p.m. at Chase Funeral Home with Bro. Philip Halter and Bro. Marshall Gurley officiating. Burial followed in Clarksburg Cemetery. Mr. Pendergrass was born July 12, 1922 to the late Jessie L. Pendergrass and Florence Eron (Douglas) Pendergrass. He was a merchant and farmer. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Nita Lovell and Brooksie McDaniel, who passed away on the same day. Survivors include: one brother, Cecil A. (Eunice) Pendergrass of Cedar Grove; and two sisters, Willie Mae (James) Scott and Joyce (Tommy) Altom, both of Clarksburg.

John Daniel DOUGLAS. Born on 22 Dec 1904 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 73, John Daniel died in Huntingdon, Carroll County, Tennessee on 10 Jun 1978. Buried in Jun 1978 in Clarksburg Cemetery, Clarksburg, 13th District, Carroll County, Tennessee. Resided in District 13, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1930.

On 19 Sep 1926 when John Daniel was 21, he married Ondine PRATER, daughter of Herbert Hawkins PRATER (1887-1968) & Velar THOMASON (1891-1916), in Carroll County, Tennessee. Born on 7 Oct 1910 in Wildersville, Henderson County,Tennessee. At the age of 78, Ondine died in 1989. Buried in 1989 in Clarksburg Cemetery, Clarksburg, 13th District, Carroll County, Tennessee. Resided in District 13, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1930.

Nancy Minerva DOUGLAS. Born on 22 Feb 1908 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 93, Nancy Minerva died in Jackson, Madison County, Tennessee on 10 Jun 2001. Buried on 11 Jun 2001 in Sellers Hill Cemetery, Clarksburg, 13th District, Carroll County, Tennessee. Resided in District 13, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1930.

Obituary: Nancy M. Scott, 93, of Clarksburg, died Sunday, June 10, at Jackson-Madison General Hospital. Services were held on Monday, June 11, at Clarksburg Church of Christ. Burial followed in Sellers Hill Cemetery. Dilday Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Scott, the daughter of the late Sid and Willie Mills [Meals] Douglas, was born February 22, 1908, in Carroll County. She was a retired employee of Modern Cleaners and a member of Clarksburg Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by a son, John Edward Scott. She is survived by a daughter, Adell Ross of Clarksburg; two sons, Hulon Scott of Mason and Lyndol Scott of Clarksburg; a sister, Opal Gately of Cedar Grove; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

On 20 Feb 1926 when Nancy Minerva was 17, she married William Vedus SCOTT, son of William Early SCOTT (1881-1967) & Callie June WILLIAMS (1883-1949), in Carroll County, Tennessee. Born on 26 Mar 1905 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 84, William Vedus died in Carroll County, Tennessee on 18 Apr 1989. Buried in Apr 1989 in Sellers Hill Cemetery, Clarksburg, 13th District, Carroll County, Tennessee. Resided in District 13, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1930. Occupation: Farmer and mechanic. Religion: Church of Christ. Alias/AKA: "Vedus".

BREEDEN (1890-1916) & Fannie GOOCH (1891-1933), in Carroll County, Tennessee. Born on 11 Sep 1907 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 82, Lenzie Leon died in Huntingdon, Carroll County, Tennessee on 13 Mar 1990. Buried in Mar 1990 in New Hope Cemetery, Yuma, Carroll County, Tennessee. Resided in District 12, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1910. Resided in District 12, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1920.

Woodrow married Brooksie Nell KIRBY, daughter of Homer KIRBY (1894-1986) & Ada ROBINSON (1895-1970). Born on 31 Mar 1925 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 74, Brooksie Nell died in Huntingdon, Carroll County, Tennessee on 10 Sep 1999. Buried on 13 Sep 1999 in Sellers Hill Cemetery, Clarksburg, 13th District, Carroll County, Tennessee.

206. Bennie Opal DOUGLAS. Born on 11 Nov 1914 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 89, Bennie Opal died in Huntingdon, Carroll County, Tennessee on 26 Jan 2004. Buried on 28 Jan 2004 in Hickory Flat Cemetery, Cedar Grove, Carroll County, Tennessee.

Obituary: Opal Gateley, 89, of Cedar Grove, died Monday, January 26, at Baptist Hospital in Huntingdon. Services were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, January 28, at Reed's Chapel in Lexington. Burial followed in Hickory Flat Cemetery. Mrs. Gateley was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Gateley. She is survived by a daughter, Sue White of Bartlett; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

On 7 May 1932 when Bennie Opal was 17, she married James GATELY, son of William Oscar GATELY (1881-1944) & Lucinda Beth STANFORD (1885-1925), in Henderson County, Tennessee.

They had the following children:

Sue married Junior WHITE, son of Jack N. WHITE (1889-1947) & Maude FESMIRE (1903-1991).


207. Mollie Odell DOUGLAS. Born on 31 May 1917 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 81, Mollie Odell died in Tennessee in 1999. Alias/AKA: "Trick".

Mollie Odell first married William Hall MOORE. Born on 6 Jul 1916. Alias/AKA: "Bill". They were divorced in 1943 in Henderson County, Tennessee.

They had the following children:

In 1972 when Mollie Odell was 54, she second married Everette GALLOWAY. They were divorced in 1972.
