57. Harrison B. SCOTT. Born on 6 Jan 1824 in Tennessee. At the age of 70, Harrison B. died on 7 Oct 1894. Resided in 9th District, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1870.

Soldier in the Civil War - Fought at the Battle of Columbus, Kentucky.

On 6 Mar 1845 when Harrison B. was 21, he first married Margaret SPENSER, in Carroll County, Tennessee. Born in 1827 in Tennessee.

They had the following children:

58. Matilda Jane SCOTT. Born in Sep 1832 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 90, Matilda Jane died in Macon Community, Franklin County, Texas in May 1923. Resided in 12th District, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1900.

Settled in Titus County, Texas, in 1901.

On 12 Nov 1853 when Matilda Jane was 21, she married Jason SPRINGER, son of Uriah SPRINGER (1805-) & Ruth Elizabeth BELEW (1805-1870), in Carroll County, Tennessee. Born in 1830 in Clarksburg, 13th District, Carroll County, Tennessee. Resided in 12th District, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1860.

Military: Served in the American Civil War.

They had the following children:

59. Samuel Thompson SCOTT. Born on 3 Jul 1834 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 79, Samuel Thompson died in Carroll County, Tennessee on 22 Dec 1913. Buried in Dec 1913 in Blair Cemetery, Clarksburg, 13th District, Carroll County, Tennessee.

Samuel Thompson Scott served in Company G, 2nd Tennessee Mounted Infantry (US) during the American Civil War.

On 15 May 1856 when Samuel Thompson was 21, he first married Mary E. HOLMES, daughter of Thomas HOLMES (1796-) & Rebecca ? (1802-), in Carroll County, Tennessee. Born around 1830 in Tennessee. Resided in District 13, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1850.

They had the following children:

iii. Joseph. Born in 1862.


On 13 Feb 1872 when Samuel Thompson was 37, he second married Josie Paralee HOLMES, daughter of Thomas HOLMES (1796-) & Rebecca ? (1802-), in Carroll County, Tennessee. Born on 7 Jun 1845 in Tennessee. At the age of 75, Josie Paralee died on 27 May 1921. Buried in May 1921 in Blair Cemetery, Clarksburg, 13th District, Carroll County, Tennessee. Resided in District 13, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1850. Resided in District 13, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1860.

They had the following children:
i. Joe Seph. Born in 1876. At the age of 67, Joe Seph died in 1943. Buried in 1943 in Blair Cemetery, Clarksburg, 13th District, Carroll County, Tennessee.

ii. Ether. Born in Aug 1881.

iii. Elizabeth. Born in 1884.


60. Wiley SCOTT. Born about 1835 in Tennessee.

61. James J. SCOTT. Born in 1843 in Clarksburg, 13th District, Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 75, James J. died in Wildersville, Henderson County, Tennessee on 13 Nov 1918. Buried in Nov 1918 in Farmville Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee. Resided in Wildersville, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1910.

Obituary: James Scott, aged 80 years or more, died at an early hour Thursday night of last week in Wildersville. He is survived by his wife and several children. The latter all grown and married. Mr. Scott joined the Christian Church a year or more ago. He was a Federal veteran of the Civil War of 1861-1865.

James J Scott enlisted as a Private into Company G, 7th Tennessee Cavalry Regiment in Clarksburg, 13th District, Carroll County, Tennessee, on August 5, 1862. He mustered out at Saulsbury, Tennessee on 25 October 1863. He reenlisted into Company K, 2nd Tennessee Mounted Infantry at New Johnsonville, Tennessee on 1 June 1864 with his brother, Samuel Thompson Scott and was mustered out on 27 June 1865 in Nashville, Tennessee. In 1996, his sword and scabbard were passed to Earnest Anderson, Junior, Franklin, Tennessee, a descendant of Jessie Bell Scott Anderson Malone (daughter of James J. and his second wife) per Ernest's daughter, Janet Eckelkamp, Franklin, Tennessee.

James J. first married Tabitha BRITT. Born in 1848 in Tennessee. At the age of 33, Tabitha died on 2 Apr 1881. Buried in Apr 1881 in Blair Cemetery, Clarksburg, 13th District, Carroll County, Tennessee. Alias/AKA: "Janie".

They had the following children:
146 i. Jane Elizabeth (1868-1913)
ii. Lydia. Born in 1874.

147 iii. John M. (1877-1962)
iv. Addolphis. Born on 10 Aug 1880.

v. Infant. Born on 14 Mar 1883. Infant died on 14 Mar 1883.


On 12 Jan 1886 when James J. was 43, he second married Ancebel CARNAL, daughter of Jeremiah CARNAL (1825-) & Carrie May BRIDGES, in Henderson County, Tennessee. Born in 1854 in Tennessee.

They had one child:
148 i. Jessie Bell (1889-)

62. Winfield C. SCOTT. Born about 1847 in Tennessee.

Winfield C. married Nancy WILLIAMS. Born in 1858.

They had one child:
149 i. Emma Lou (1878-1962)
