Family of Sarah COFFMAN (6) & John MEALS

21. Mary Ann MEALS. Born on 5 Jul 1804 in Jefferson County, Tennessee. At the age of 87, Mary Ann died in Nacogdoches County, Texas on 8 May 1892. Buried in 1892 in Old North Church Cemetery, Nacogdoches County, Texas.

On 17 Feb 1823 when Mary Ann was 18, she first married Jessee SUMMERS, in Madison County, Alabama.

They had the following children:
i. John M.. Born on 23 Nov 1823 in Alabama. At the age of 92, John M. died in 1916.

55 ii. Thomas Holloway (1826-1916)

On 11 Dec 1829 when Mary Ann was 25, she second married Thomas McCUISTION, son of Andrew McCUISTION & Mary RANKIN, in Madison County, Alabama. Born on 20 Jan 1809 in Tennessee. At the age of 86, Thomas died in Nacogdoches County, Texas on 19 Mar 1895. Buried in 1895 in Old North Church Cemetery, Nacogdoches County, Texas.

They had the following children:

58 iii. Sarah Elizabeth (1836-1898)
iv. Robert Lewis. Born on 5 Mar 1841 in Mississippi. At the age of 21, Robert Lewis died on 19 Jul 1862. Buried in 1862 in Old North Church Cemetery, Nacogdoches County, Texas. Robert Lewis served Served in Company G, 12th Regiment of Texas Volunteers, CSA. Cause of death: Died in American Civil War.

22. Elizabeth MEALS. Born on 11 Oct 1806 in Jefferson County, Tennessee. At the age of 91, Elizabeth died in Nacogdoches County, Texas on 14 Nov 1897. Buried in 1897 in Old North Church Cemetery, Nacogdoches County, Texas. Resided in District 34, Madison County, Alabama in 1850.

Obituary: NAGODOCHES CHRONICLE, November 1897 - Grandma Power Dead - Died 13 November 1897. She died aat the residence of her son, James W. Power, buried at North Church Cemetery. One of the oldest residents of North Church Community, past 80 years old at her death.

On 22 Nov 1821 when Elizabeth was 15, she married Holloway Lee POWER, son of James POWER & Charity WILLIAMS, in Madison County, Alabama. Born on 14 Apr 1802 in Floyd County, Kentucky. At the age of 64, Holloway Lee died in Nacogdoches County, Texas on 6 Nov 1866. Buried in 1866 in Old North Church Cemetery, Nacogdoches County, Texas. Resided in District 34, Madison County, Alabama in 1850.

They had the following children:

ii. John M.. Born on 9 Jul 1824 in Madison County, Alabama. At the age of 2, John M. died in Madison County, Alabama on 11 Aug 1826.

23. Susan MEALS. Born in 1812 in Tennessee. Resided in District 34, Madison County, Alabama in 1850.

On 13 Feb 1828 when Susan was 16, she married John OLD, in Madison County, Alabama.

They had the following children:
i. William M.. Born in 1832 in Alabama. Resided in District 34, Madison County, Alabama in 1850.

69 ii. John (1835-1887)
iii. Nancy.

On 4 Jan 1843 Nancy married William WALKER.

iv. Sarah. Born in 1839 in Alabama. Resided in District 34, Madison County, Alabama in 1850.

Sarah married Edward NICHOLS.

v. Martha. Born in 1842 in Alabama. Resided in District 34, Madison County, Alabama in 1850.

vi. Susan. Born in 1845 in Alabama. Resided in District 34, Madison County, Alabama in 1850.
