On 28 May 1891 when Jodie Tennessee was 16, she first married Cornelius H. METTLER, son of Samuel Brittan METTLER (1826-) & Mary Wilson ALLER (1826-1901), in Cleburne, Johnson County, Texas. Born on 28 May 1859. At the age of 34, Cornelius H. died on 1 Nov 1893. Buried in 1893 in Cleburne Cemetery, Cleburne, Texas. They had the following children:
On 2 Dec 1896 when Jodie Tennessee was 22, she second married Albert Virgil COLLINS. They had the following children:
100. Lela BARR. Born on 24 Oct 1878 in Jackson, Madison County, Tennessee. Lela married Curtis I. ANDERSON Sr.. Occupation: Engineer for the Santa Fe Railroad. They had the following children:
101. Lurlie Belle BARR. Born on 24 Oct 1878 in Jackson, Madison County, Tennessee. At the age of 89, Lurlie Belle died on 31 Aug 1968. Alias/AKA: "Mama Smith". Mama Smith wore her hair swept up on her head and would take the braid off and put it on the dresser when she went to bed at night. Her hair was actually very thin and the braid was a hair piece, which was unheard of in those days. On 2 Mar 1897 when Lurlie Belle was 18, she first married James David McCALL. Born in 1874. At the age of 35, James David died about 1909. They had the following children:
about 1908 when Lurlie Belle was 29, she second married Frank J. SMITH. Born on 17 Mar 1869. At the age of 52, Frank J. died in Jul 1921. They had the following children:
102. Fred BARR. Born on 4 Jan 1893. At the age of 80, Fred died in Jul 1973. Buried in Cleburne, Johnson County, Texas. Military: Fred served in the Navy during World War I. He served on a patrol boat along the coast of Mexico, spending time in Mazatlan and was stationed in San Francisco part of the time. He served on the "Bowrey". Several of their children died before Myrtle and Fred. At the time of her death, Nancy Jane Meals Barr, Fred's mother, was living with Fred and Myrtle in Sagerton, Texas. On 24 Dec 1919 when Fred was 26, he married Myrtle Neal SULLIVAN, daughter of Vester SULLIVAN & Florence WEBB. Born on 31 May 1906 in Bardwell, Kentucky. At the age of 89, Myrtle Neal died in Cleburne, Johnson County, Texas in Jan 1996. They had the following children:
103. Pearl BARR. Pearl first married George McCALL. They had the following children:
Pearl second married Homer JOHNSON. 104. Myrtle BARR. Alias/AKA: "Aunt Myrt". Myrtle was a very modern lady who studied the card game of bridge under Goren in Dallas, Texas. Years later one of her nieces, Iris Mae, asked Aunt Myrt to teach her how to play and Myrt said, "No honey, I just don't play with beginners!" Myrt even taught her two girls how to smoke, which was just awful in those days. Of course, it was the 20's --flappers and all of that, but in the backward south, only the sophisticated people did those things. Myrtle married Louis FULLER. They had the following children:
105. Nellie BARR. Lived in Kansas City, Missouri. Nellie first married STEVENSON. They had the following children:
Nellie second married McCALL.
