2. James E. RUSH. Born on 28 Mar 1809 in North Carolina. At the age of 80, James E. died on 30 Mar 1889. Buried in Mar 1889 in Rush Cemetery, Wildersville, Henderson County, Tennessee. Resided in District 17, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1850. Resided in District 17, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1860. Resided in District 17, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1870. Resided in District 17, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1880.

On 16 Jan 1834 when James E. was 24, he first married Sally CODY, in Davidson County, North Carolina.

James E. second married Nancy TODD, daughter of James TODD Senior (1774-1870) & Mary ? (1784-). Born in 1825 in South Carolina. Resided in District 17, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1850. Resided in District 17, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1860.

Martha Jane married Tom WEBB. Buried in Webb Cemetery, Natchez Trace, Henderson County, Tennessee.

ii. Benjamin. Born in 1849 in Henderson County, Tennessee. Resided in District 17, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1850.

viii. Sarah E.. Born in 1861 in Henderson County, Tennessee. At the age of 84, Sarah E. died in 1945. Buried in 1945 in Hare Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee. Resided in District 17, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1870.

Sarah E. married Arguile JOWERS. Arguile died in 1930. Buried in 1930 in Hare Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee.

10 ix. John R. (1865-1949)

James E. third married Abigail COLEMAN. Born in 1846 in Tennessee. Resided in District 17, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1870.

They had the following children:
i. Robert L.. Born in 1869 in Henderson County, Tennessee. Resided in District 17, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1870. Alias/AKA: "Bobby".

Robert L. Rush died at birth.

Henderson Alexander married Margaret Elizabeth RIGSBY. Born in 1872. At the age of 96, Margaret Elizabeth died in 1968.

13 v. Melvina V. (1875-1928)
vi. Newton Thomas. Born on 1 Aug 1877 in Henderson County, Tennessee. At the age of 64, Newton Thomas died in Henderson County, Tennessee on 19 Oct 1941. Buried in Oct 1941 in Marlin Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee. Resided in District 17, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1880. Resided in District 3, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1930. Alias/AKA: "Nute".

Obituary: Newton Thomas Rush, son the late James and Abigail Rush, was born August 1, 1877, and died October 19th, 1941, aged 64 years. He was married to Maude Marlin forty-one years ago. He professed faith in Christ when only a boy and united with the Mt. Pisgah Church at the age of 16 years and remained a faithful Christian until the end. He was a kind and devoted husband and as he had no children of his own, was a father to several who loved him dearly. He leaves his wife, two brothers, and two sisters, nieces and nephews and scores of friends to mourn his loss.

On 31 Dec 1900 when Newton Thomas was 23, he married Maude MARLIN, in Henderson County, Tennessee. Born in 1881 in Henderson County, Tennessee. At the age of 85, Maude died in 1966. Buried in 1966 in Marlin Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee. Resided in District 3, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1930.

John married Lucinda ?. Born in 1829 in South Carolina.

4. Ellen RUSH. Born on 26 Oct 1824 in Davidson County, North Carolina. At the age of 54, Ellen died in Henderson County, Tennessee on 19 Apr 1879. Buried in Apr 1879 in Miller Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee. Resided in District 17, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1870.

around 1845 when Ellen was 20, she married James TODD Junior, son of James TODD Senior (1774-1870) & Mary ? (1784-). Born in 1823 in Laurens County, South Carolina. At the age of 59, James died in Henderson County, Tennessee on 9 Oct 1882. Buried in Oct 1882 in Miller Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee. Resided in District 17, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1870. Resided in District 17, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1880.
